USMNT will play Wales in the World Cup
USMNT has played two games this week, and this year it could be the “World Cup Sendoff” when the series is completed. It would have been very popular with both Gregg Berhalter and fans, with the final cut soon. The match against Morocco and Uruguay is still a thrill – it was refreshing to see the US play everyone outside of CONCACAF once – and there were new wrinkles in the system and the players. But thanks to the cold World Cup, through the terrorist attacks he inflicted on Qatar, the allies could be in vain if there were joint injuries or loss of form in the fall.
We’ll get there, but USMNT’s biggest development came from Cardiff, where Wales beat Ukraine 1-0 to qualify for the World Cup in the USA. On the opening day of the competition, the US will complete the list facing Wales.
It is absurd to say that the US may have been relieved for not participating in the Ukrainian enemy in the opening match. Unless you were playing Wales Dragon somewhere on your character yesterday, you probably expect Ukraine to pass by and give their people something, everything, to enjoy. It was one of those events where the game comes to a head, as well as the idea that Ukrainian players are playing something higher than a World Cup match. The good news as Wales is, this is their first World Cup season in 64 years, the shooting of Ukrainian fans and their excruciating pain as the clock approached about 90 minutes without a goal was hard to take. It was clear what all of this meant for everyone.
So, yes, Ukraine in the World Cup would have been a good story, though they probably didn’t do much to solve the current problem, you know, their country is being taken over by a dictator who is trying to make it happen a hundred years ago. However, we have already seen it, as Croatia ran for the semi-finals in 1998 in France shortly after independence. The team not only brought the whole nation together or got out of trouble but raised them to a new level.
But the game does not always give you a happy ending, even if Wales end their apparent drought on the big court it is not the evil one who shakes his mustache and laughs at the end. It’s not written, and sometimes that sounds good it doesn’t happen because the other team’s guard is at his head (Wayne Hennesseand, nine saves, hello).
And when it comes to sports, even when it comes to offshore issues, USMNT will be happy to carry the responsibility of hosting Ukraine at the World Cup. It would be encouraging to “allow” Ukraine to pass, but it should be very difficult for the opponents to play for the team knowing what Ukraine is playing for. It would have been the biggest issue in Qatar if it had been the case, everyone would have resented them, and the US as an opponent would have dragged them into the US negotiations to be tied to the conflict with Russia whether they like it or not. There is already this in the third US game against Iran.
It is a deceptive, but impossible team, and although it may not openly admit the US players are probably relieved because they did not start the tournament with a strangely inspired enemy and then meet the rich England when the group stage ends. against Iran which will be their biggest game since… well, the last time they played with the US in the World Cup in 1998. This also saves them from playing terrorists, which seeks to destroy the good record of the tournament. .
Not that Wales is a nomad. They were not very interested in Ukraine, and were sometimes played outside the park. But he does what the US team struggled against, and then a small block closed around their penalty box and allowed Gareth Bale to take something on the freekick. That’s what he did on Sunday. Although Bale will not play club football from now until the World Cup, and even if he signs with someone after his contract in Madrid, he will not play club football because of what we saw in Madrid a few years ago, something happens to Bale as he pulls his Welsh shirt. You should already be preparing for your lunch by November 21st.
It looked like Berhalter was trying to tackle it against Morocco and make a slight change with the ball Wednesday night. With that in mind, the US pushed the Jedi Robinson (still accustomed to the “Jedi”) to the front, used Reggie Cannon as a third back, and played 3-2-5 with the ball. Brenden Aaronson was replaced in the middle, with Robinson taking the left wing, Christian Pulisic re-entered, while he and Aaronson played between Tim Weah, Jesus Ferreira, and Robinson. The idea of this was to A) give the US more options in the face of full security because the five could connect with any move, and B) expand their machine when they lose the ball. Judging by the health and appearance, this is how it would look best against Wales.
There were problems in both Morocco and Uruguay matches, especially that the US did not win in the final. Second, Morocco was able to easily get out of the US printing press sometimes by switching the ball from one side to the other, and the US seemed confused as to who would take the person receiving the 50-yard pass, cross-field, leaving acres of space. And there will not be much time to prepare for this. There are only two Nations League games this week, unprepared for their World Cup rivals, and two friendly matches in September. With just one week to go from the start of the season, the club season will be closed in November until the start of the competition. Looking forward to a solid ship in Qatar is probably an unfortunate prospect.
Considering the Ukrainian game that has been shown against Scotland and Wales, the US is free to see a smaller enemy, even with a full card like Bale. They will also be free to just play World Cup games, instead of having a two-ton story at the top.
