The UK now has a four-day prolonged vacation (June 2-5) as a part of the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations.

In February, Elizabeth II turned the longest-reigning British monarch, and the first to finish 70 years on the throne.

The Queen has been head of state of the United Kingdom since 1952, when her father, King George VI, died. He can be the head of state of 15 different international locations (the United Kingdom and 14 different international locations) of the Commonwealth (the British Commonwealth, which incorporates former colonies).

What is the Queen’s Jubilee?

The Queen was born on April 21, 1926, however she celebrates two birthdays annually – the second is formally Remembrance Day and is often celebrated on the second Saturday in June.
