Phil Mickelson Signs and LIV Golf, Will Play In The Opening Ceremony This Week

Phil Mickelson has signed a contract with LIV Golf Investments and will play in the first Invitational Series this week outside London, completing a four-month respite from golf that has landed him in contention.

Mickelson, 51, kicks off Thursday’s $ 25 million, 54-hole event to be played at Centurion Golf Club, his first competition since taking part in a Saudi International tournament in early February.

“Phil Mickelson is one of the greatest golfers of this generation. His contribution to the game and the connections of fans around the world cannot be overstated and we are thrilled to have him,” LIV Golf Commissioner and CEO Greg Norman said. “It solidifies the exciting part of London where we are proud to launch a new golf season.
