Max Verstappen wins Azerbaijan F1 GP while Ferrari faces two disasters | Formula One

Max Verstappen opened the 21st chance of defeating teammate Sergio Pérez in the Formula One international tournament as Red Bull finished 1-2 in the Azerbaijan Grand Prix on Ferrari’s most dangerous day.

Verstappen had a difficult start in defending a title that was surprisingly successful last year, suffering from the reliability of a season-ending challenge that has become like a thorn in Ferrari’s side. Charles Leclerc, who started on the bench in Baku and has done so in six of the eight races of the season so far, led the race until the engine failed after 19 of the 51 races of the race.

“It really hurts me,” said Ferrari’s husband, who retired from two of the last three doctors. “We do not need this to happen again. We did not have any major problems earlier this season and we have not made any major changes. It is difficult to understand and very frustrating.”

Leclerc teammate Carlos Sainz rested early on with the hydraulic challenge, the Italian retired team twice since Monza 2020 gave the Red Bull a plate race.

Pérez, a Baku striker and Monaco winner two days ago, led the first game against Leclerc in the first corner, but, after defeating Verstappen in the second consecutive second round, he was badly damaged and did well for the defender after 14. time, the Dutchman goes on to win. His 25-year-old success led him to become the legendary figure of Jim Clark and Niki Lauda.

Christian Horner, Red Bull’s senior team, said: “It was a disaster for Ferrari today. [virtual safety car] for Leclerc, which led him but would mean a long time on the tires. We had a good pace and would have been better after that. It would be amazing to see how it happened. ”

At one point, Red Bull drivers received “no-fight” instructions on a track that was known to be at risk for nearby walls and lack of running space. Horner, however, explained: “Sergio was a magician to qualify yesterday, but we probably prioritized the qualifications for his side of the garage. He got into the rear tires much faster than Max does today. In Baku in 2021, Verstappen was robbed of six-wheel drive wheels from the end, leading the way.

Behind the Red Bulls, George Russell scored his third goal of the year and maintained his record as the only driver to score in any race. But driving a Mercedes car that still suffers from “porpoising” or collision, due to this year’s aviation regulations, was far from a good day. “It was very cruel out there,” Russell asserted. “I can sleep well tonight after a race on a track that was often less physical.”

Lewis Hamilton knew exactly how he felt, struggling to get out of his car after finishing fourth – behind teammate Russell for the seventh time in eight races. “I was biting my teeth in pain,” said a seven-year-old international expert. “I can’t explain. Adrenaline helped me. You were just praying for it to end. ”

Once again it has not been impressive for the reigning architects but Hamilton was still happy to offer hope. “I see that we are losing 1sec at every level with this jump and once we fix it we will be there,” he said.

This, however, has been well known since the opening of the tournament, with Toto Wolff apologizing for Hamilton’s experience. “We all know it’s very difficult to drive right now, and sorry back, but let’s fix it,” Mercedes’ senior team said.

Almost anyone else, the drivers were suspicious of the Mercedes crash which they feared could cause long-term damage.
