In late October, Austin Siereveld had just received donations from Ohio and Toledo.
The four-star player then took his third chance from Michigan State. Ohio State soon followed Oct. 30 when Siereveld won as OSU won 33-24 at Penn State.
Recruiting 6-foot-5, 315-pounds frustrating riders left there, and although it took longer than expected, Siereveld finally committed to the team he grew up with, speaking in Ohio State on Wednesday.

OSU’s offer to Siereveld came from Ryan Day himself, which was a special moment for a lifelong fanatic in Ohio State.
“I was very honored to be betrayed by them,” Siereveld said Eleven Warriors after receiving his contribution. “What he gave me in the face of Coach Day was wonderful.”
But Siereveld was not yet ready to commit, and he was determined to act wisely. Numerous follow-up offerings from Division I schools include Alabama, Cincinnati, Kentucky, Illinois, Notre Dame and West Virginia.

Siereveld did not return to Ohio State until the end of March, and rejoined the program after two recruits, Greg Studrawa and Kerry Coombs, did not return to the Buckeyes following the 2021 season.
Fortunately for OSU, new sports coach Justin Frye actively established a relationship with Siereveld on his return journey.
“He always tells me he wants to train me and I want to play for someone like that,” Siereveld said of Frye after his March tour.

Siereveld returned to Columbus for the Ohio State spring game on April 16, and the trip made him feel free to express his words at OSU, although he also visited Notre Dame on April 23. He selected the Buckeyes at Notre Dame and Alabama. , both were also in the last three Siereveld groups.
The Lakota East soldier began to impress the Buckeyes’ coaches by standing up for a workout at the Ohio State camp on June 16. OSU officials asked him to return to the second camp later that month. Siereveld excelled at his second camp, then returned to the Buckeye Bash & BBQ at the end of July and took his first sporting tour at Shoe on Sept. 11 to open house against Oregon.
While in both camps, Siereveld was told by OSU instructors that he was seen as a security guard at the school, and the guards or his place was still in school.
According to 247Sports rankings, Siereveld ranks 351st — the best prospect and No. 20 inner liners in the 2023 class.
