Covid: City Hall has temporarily suspended the Pfizer application on children

The first dose of the vaccine against Covid-19 in children under 05 years of age, including immunosuppression in children aged 05 to 11 years, and the second dose of pediatric Pfizer for adolescents eligible for complementary vaccination will be suspended in Salvador.

According to the health department of the municipality, this measure has been taken due to the low stock of pediatric Pfizer immunizer in the capital. SMS is waiting for the new dose transfer by the Ministry of Health to resume the strategy for the public in the city.

For children 6 to 11 years of age (who do not have immunosuppression) 1st and 2nd dose strategies usually follow the application of CoronaVac immunizer.

Lots of teams

The strategy includes “general release” for the application of the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd doses for persons 12 years of age or older, regardless of the municipality’s residents, meaning that those taking the dose here, whether or not they live in Salvador, will be covered by the citizen. The only requirement is that the SUS card be linked to a municipality in the state of Bahia.

Interested parties must present original and copy of Vaccination Card, National Digital Immunization Card (updated CONECTSUS), photo identification document and proof of residency in Bahia State Municipality.

The units continue with the application of the 4th dose of the vaccine against Covid-19 for people 60 years of age or older, with a name listed on the SMS website.

Other parties that are not included in the ‘Liberu Geral’ strategy must be in Salvador and have their names listed on the Municipal Health Department’s website. Vaccinations for children between the ages of 6 and 11 will be followed tomorrow in the list of SMS websites at educational institutions in the capital of Bahia.

Attention: People 18 years of age or older who have received the Janssen vaccine are not recommended to take the 3rd dose, as the vaccination schedule is a single dose + booster dose.

Only immunosuppressed patients who have been administered with the Janssen vaccine are indicated for the 3rd dose.
