Charles Oliveira is due to give up his UFC lightweight title when he fights Justin Gaethje tomorrow night (Saturday, May 7, 2022) at the ESPN + PPV from inside the Footprint Center in Phoenix, Arizona, for weight loss Friday. “Do Bronx” would not be eligible to win the 155-pound belt even if they defeated Gaethje, but that did not deter Mbrazilyu from focusing on Saturday’s battle.
Most olivesira first Friday weighed in weight when she came in at half a pound at 155-pound lightweight limit. The winner was given an extra hour to lose weight and make his main race with Gaethje a legitimate battle, but the former could not break out in a sweat.
Although some believe that the wrong scale was wrong which does not change the fact that Oliveira missed the weight of what should have been her second straight line. It is the fifth time in the UFC Oliveira career that he missed his weight, but for the first time at a lightweight level. Even for a fighter who had a record of coming up very rich this was amazing to say the least.
A few hours after his head was confiscated and Oliveira was deemed unfit to win again this week at UFC 274 the ex-soldier went to a social networking site to hand out a certificate of merit.
“The contestant has a name – his name is Charles Oliveira. Let’s go with everything in Brazil. God and God have not left me and there will be no way they are going now. I am the ULUMINATED CHOICE,” Oliveira wrote via Instagram.
In addition, Oliveira’s head coach, Diego Lima, issued a ruling condemning the hotel’s oversight for Friday’s failure. According to Lima, Oliveira slept soundly Thursday night to realize he was overweight as he climbed to the first level on Friday.
“We slept soundly, we looked at the weight that the team was leaving us on the floor and everything was fine,” Lima told Cobate. “Looking back in the morning, [his weight] he was extinguishing. We wrote again last night that he was rich because that is what really happened. You are witnesses of this, Charles never gave up from his ascension to 155. Even when there was no belt. [on the line]he was below the limit, he did not spend a pound.
“If I continue to say it, people may think it is an excuse, but it is true. We sent even last night he weighed well. She lost weight and went to bed. ”
In any case, Oliveira will no longer be a UFC lightweight champion when his battle with Gaethje kicks off tomorrow night at UFC 274. If Oliveira can win the “Highlight” then he will be ready to fight for another title, on the UFC’s official release.
