A closer look at who is preparing for the US Open finals

The longest day of golf has arrived.

Before players from across the country compete for a place in the US Open next week at The Country Club, here are some of the top nine players to arrive on the last Monday of the US Open:

  • PGA Tour players include JJ Spaun, CT Pan, David Lipsky and Brandon Hagy
  • Derek Bard: Virginia grad played in the 2016 US Open as a finalist at the 2015 US Amateur.
  • Curtis Thompson: LSU salesman and his LPGA star brother Lexi Thompson

Olympic Club (Ocean Course), San Francisco, Calif.

  • Jaden Dumdumaya ,: The 15-year-old from Fairfield, California, is the youngest player in this year’s final and has won 14-15 this year for Drive, Chip & Putt National Finals at Augusta National Golf Club.
  • Maverick McNealy: PGA Tour member, and winner of the 2015 Haskins Award and former world No. 1 amateur is from Stanford
  • a-William Mouw: Growing up in Pepperdine, 2021 US Walker Cupper and son of a poultry farmer
  • Daniel Summerhays and Preston Summerhays: Daniel is a former PGA Tour player who is looking at his fifth US Open (three times cut), is responsible for KFT and is a dedicated assistant coach at BYU, while Preston, Daniel’s nephew, is a second student. in Arizona State and 2019 US Junior champ

  • Steele DeWald: A 35-year-old professional coach at Jeremy Ranch Golf & Country Club in Park City, Utah, was one of the top athletes in the country until he retired at the age of 14.
  • a-Gene Elliott: At age 60, the 2021 US Senior Amateur winner is the oldest competition in the final.
  • Alex Fitzpatrick: The Wake Forest grad is the brother of Matt Fitzpatrick, who fell in love with him when Matt won the 2013 US Amateur at The Country Club.

  • PGA Tour players include Patton Kizzire, Keith Mitchell, Brendon Todd and Bill Haas.
  • Harry Hall: Englishman and UNLV product is about to win their first Korn Ferry Tour
  • Smylie Kaufman: A former LSU winner and winner of the PGA Tour recently worked as an ESPN + reporter at the PGA Championship.
  • Max Mehles: The 27-year-old German is the husband of LPGA player Sophia Popov and her caddy when she won the 2020 AIG Women’s Open.
  • Davis Thompson: Former Georgia star and Walker Cupper won KFT’s Rex Hospital Open on Sunday.
  • Brett White: She received her KFT card at Q-School last year after she contracted encephalitis, which caused a brain tumor and temporary paralysis from the waist down, in 2017.
  • Will Wilcoco, 36, a former PGA former PGA player in April: A player on tour after receiving drug treatment.

  • PGA Tour players include Harry Higgs, Kevin Chappell, Joseph Bramlett, Taylor Pendrith and David Skinns.
  • Wesley and George Bryan: Brothers and former photographers, even Wesley, the winner of the PGA Tour, is the only one who played on the Tour.
  • Tim O’Neal: The 49-year-old is a member of the APGA Tour and is looking to qualify for his second US Open game after qualifying for the first time in 2015.
  • Michael Visacki: The 28-year-old traveler fell ill last Monday after qualifying for Valspar 2021.

  • a-Chris Gotterup: Born in Oklahoma grad and New Jersey recently won the Haskins and Nicklaus awards, both awarded to a college golfer.
  • Fran Quinn and Owen Quinn: A pair of men and children each came out of Williamstown, Mass., Right there on May 17 with Owen caddy of his father at the 2014 US Open, when Fran cut.
  • Kevin Rhoads: Head coach of men and women groups at Harvard
  • a-Caleb Surratt: The Tennessee signing is considered the biggest in the country in 2022 and his father, Brent, was a very competitive runner.
  • a-Michael Thorbjornsen: Stanford junior junior won the 2018 US Junior and became the last player since WWII, at the age of 17, to make the US Open cut in 2019.

  • PGA Tour players include Lucas Glover, Davis Riley, Ryan Palmer, Wyndham Clark, Doug Ghim, Lanto Griffin, Denny McCarthy and Chez Reavie.
  • a-Ludvig Aberg: The highest rider at Texas Tech won the 2022 Ben Hogan Award and was voted second in the World Amateur Golf Ranking.
  • Anthony Brodeur: The 26-year-old NHL Hall of Famer Martin Brodeur was the seventh NHL nominee and was a two-time runner at Ottawa University.
  • a-Cole Hammer: Texas grad is coming out on top for the NCAA team with the Longhorns and is looking to qualify for his fourth US Open tournament.
  • John Peterson: A 33-year-old retired man was a 2011 NCAA champion at LSU and was arrested for the fourth time at the 2012 US Open.
  • a-Gordon Sargent: The second Vanderbilt winner won the NCAA title as a newcomer last week at the Grayhawk.
  • Bob Sowards: A 53-year-old from Dublin, Ohio, is the director of instruction in Kinsale.

  • PGA Tour players include Sahith Theegala, Aaron Wise, Doc Redman, Ryan Brehm, Cameron Davis, Beau Hossler, Robert Streb and Brandt Snedeker.
  • John Augenstein: Vanderbilt grad and finalist of the 2019 US Amateur
  • Tyler Copp: 24-year-old Mercer grad with his New York Rangers Center brother Andrew Copp and defeated US Amateur winner James Piot at the 2020 Michigan Amateur.
  • Patrick Wilkes-Krier: The brother of the famous rock musician Andrew WK and qualified for the US Open outside the Springfield page in 2016.
  • Danny Woodhead: The 37-year-old former NFL running back has played for four teams, running over 2,200 yards and grabbing 300 runs, including a passdown from Tom Brady in the Super Bowl XLVI of the New England Patriots.
